Shu is a director at Nuveen Real Estate responsible for evaluating, structuring and originating acquisitions across the Asia region, supporting the business in its aspirations to deploy significant capital into the region.

Shu joined the business in 2016 from JP Morgan Asset Management Pte Ltd’s Singapore office, where he was fund manager for its Tokyo Recovery Fund, a private real estate portfolio invested into the Tokyo office sector. Shu was responsible for marketing, structuring and closing of the portfolio, including equity and co-investment tranches. The successful deployment of the capital, by sourcing and evaluation of suitable investments, led to a successful exit in 2015.

Previous roles include fund manager at Aviva Investors, vice president, investment banking for Macquarie Capital Securities (Japan) Ltd, and associate, securitisation products group at Morgan Stanley Japan Securities Co, Ltd. and associate at Itochu Corporation. Shu graduated with a B.S in Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University.
