David is an architect by training, and has worked across all stages of property development for over twenty-five years. David has held leadership roles at major Australian and International corporations working in Australia, Asia, Europe, UK and Nth America at both Project Director and General Manager level. David brings both the aspirational and commercial sides of a project together, combining strategic planning with design and development leadership.

David has knowledge and experience in both the up-front conceptual planning of major mixed-use projects – many underpinned by a core retail proposition, as well as the delivery of projects through the full development cycle. Landmark projects include Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, planning the Shell headquarters in Central London, Victoria Harbour in Melbourne and Mid Valley Gardens in Kuala Lumpur.

Since 2010 David has been a development and strategic planning advisor to the NSW Government on Barangaroo, and currently sits on the
Development Advisory Panel for the new Sydney Metro.

David is focused on market driven solutions, design leadership and product development and has established clear reference points for the planning of new landmark projects, civic infrastructure, regenerated communities and the challenges involved in city planning through the creation of an animated, enriched public place.

David is the Principal of Voda Management – a collaborative advisory network across the property industry working with developers, landowners, consultants and government on strategies to achieve maximum benefit through urban and community outcomes, design and development leadership, and place creation.

David is the Executive Director of Urban Land Institute in Australia as well as holding a number of advisory positions with Government and Industry. David is also the Chair of KU Children’s Services.
